Naasón Joaquín García, the leader of the Mexico-based La Luz del Mundo megachurch, has been charged by a federal grand jury with producing and possessing child sexual abuse material. The indictment alleges that García coerced a 16-year-old victim to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction. He is also accused of possessing an iPad containing videos of the minor engaging in sexual activity. García is currently serving a 17-year prison sentence for related state charges and, if convicted on the federal charges, could face a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison.
