"Summer McIntosh Upsets Katie Ledecky in 800m Freestyle Showdown"
The 2024 Southern Zone South Sectional meet in Orlando, Florida kicked off with 17-year-old Summer McIntosh setting a new Canadian Record of 8:11.39 in the women’s 800 free, beating Katie Ledecky. Bobby Finke won the men’s 800 free with a time of 7:53.35, while Lillie Nesty and Kieran Smith also had strong performances in the 200 free events. Other event winners included McKenzie Siroky, Grant Sanders, Addison Reese, and Jan Friese in various swimming events.
