Reds Sweep Cubs, Continue Winning Streak
The Cincinnati Reds swept the Chicago Cubs in a series at Wrigley Field, with outfielder TJ Friedl making a significant contribution off the bench with a go-ahead RBI double. Despite only playing in four games since returning from injury, Friedl has two hits in each game and is expected to start regularly next week. The Reds outplayed the Cubs throughout the series, with rookie Spencer Steer hitting a two-run home run and second baseman Kevin Newman working a 13-pitch at-bat resulting in a run-scoring walk. Shortstop Matt McLain also impressed with his baserunning and defensive play.
