Conflicting statements and opening statements dominate West trial.
The eldest child of Trezell and Jacqueline West gave conflicting statements to the Kern County Grand Jury last year regarding the disappearance of his younger brothers, Orrin and Orson West. The child's testimony was read in court as defense counsel attempted to show the child was influenced by improper questioning. The Wests are charged with murder and other offenses in the deaths of Orrin and Orson, whose bodies have not been found. The trial is in its 19th day, and closing arguments could take place next week.
