Nolan Gorman hit a go-ahead home run in the ninth inning as the St. Louis Cardinals rallied to beat the Boston Red Sox 8-6 in the opening game of a three-game series. The Cardinals won their first game of the season when they trailed after eight innings. The Red Sox's Kenly Jansen, who recorded his 400th career save on Wednesday, couldn't solve the Cardinals as they scored three in the ninth. Adam Wainwright allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks in five innings for the Cardinals.
