On this day in Braves history, in 1986, the Atlanta Braves acquired Ken Griffey Sr. from the New York Yankees in exchange for Claudell Washington and Paul Zuvella. Griffey spent three seasons with the Braves, hitting .285/.345/.439 with 28 home runs in 271 games before being released in 1988.
