Community mourns loss of UC Davis student Karim Abou Najm
Hundreds of people gathered at the UC Davis International Center to mourn and celebrate the life of Karim Abou Najm, a 20-year-old computer science student who was killed in a stabbing last weekend. His family and friends spoke about his positive impact and natural leadership. His father announced that the goal of raising $50,000 for a memorial fund in Karim's name had been surpassed, with $87,000 raised so far. UC Davis Chancellor Gary S. May described Karim as an embodiment of the university's values.
