Johnny Cage's Evolution in Mortal Kombat 1: New Mechanics and Intense Gameplay
NetherRealm Studios revealed new details about Mortal Kombat 1, including changes to playable characters Johnny Cage and Scorpion. Johnny Cage no longer has his fireball but gains two new mechanics: a "Hype meter" that allows him to cancel special moves into other special moves for a limited time, and improved throws. Scorpion now uses his rope/spear more frequently, adding range to his attacks and allowing him to reel opponents back in with an air spear attack. The developers also shared information about Kameo assists and teased one of Kung Lao's classic Fatalities.
