Olathe East High School graduate shines at Tony Awards.
Justin Cooley, a 19-year-old graduate of Olathe East High School, has been nominated for a Tony Award for his role in the Broadway musical "Kimberly Akimbo." Cooley plays Seth in the musical, which has been described as "a dose of pure joy" by the New York Times. Before this role, Cooley had never been to New York, seen a Broadway show, or worked in a professional stage production. He skipped college to pursue his dreams on the stage. The Tony Awards start at 5:30 p.m., with the big awards coming closer to 7 p.m.
