Two Pennsylvania state troopers were shot in the line of duty on Saturday in Juniata County. Trooper Jacques F. Rougeau Jr. succumbed to his injuries, and Lt. James A. Wagner was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Brandon Stine, of Thompsontown, shot Lt. James A. Wagner and was later located in the area of Swamp Road and Baumgardner Drive in Walker Township, Juniata County, where he and Trooper Rougeau Jr. were both killed in a gunfight with troopers.
