"Yankees Bolster Rotation with Acquisition of JT Brubaker from Pirates"
The New York Yankees have acquired right-hander JT Brubaker and international bonus pool allotment from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for a player to be named. Brubaker, who missed the last season due to Tommy John surgery, agreed to a one-year deal with the Yankees for $2,275,000. The 30-year-old pitcher had a 3-12 record with a 4.69 ERA in 28 appearances with the Pirates in 2022 and set career highs in starts, innings, and strikeouts. Pirates manager Derek Shelton praised Brubaker not only as a pitcher but also as a human being, highlighting his involvement in charity events.
