Mets' Struggles Continue with Another Series Loss to Pirates.
The New York Mets lost 2-1 to the Pittsburgh Pirates in the series finale at PNC Park on Sunday. The Mets' offense struggled, only managing three hits and one run, a Jeff McNeil solo home run. Carlos Carrasco pitched a so-so outing, allowing two runs and six hits in 4 2/3 innings. Left-handed relief pitcher Josh Walker was the star of the game for the Mets, picking up a huge strikeout of Jack Suwinski with two runners in scoring position. The Mets have now lost eight of their last nine games and sit four games below .500.
