"Father of 9/11 First Responder Killed by SUV"
Joseph Zadroga, father of NYPD Detective James Zadroga who died from 9/11-related health issues, was tragically struck and killed by an SUV in a hospital parking lot. Zadroga had been a vocal advocate for 9/11 first responders and was instrumental in extending the James Zadroga 9/11 Health & Compensation Act. The 76-year-old was standing next to his car when he was hit by the SUV, and despite being taken to the hospital, he was pronounced dead. The 82-year-old driver involved in the accident is being investigated, and no charges have been announced. The 9/11 community and advocates mourn the loss of Joseph Zadroga.
