Remembering Denny Crum: A Hall of Fame Coach's Legacy
Denny Crum, the former Louisville basketball coach, passed away at the age of 86. Crum was a star coach who led Louisville to two national championships, six Final Fours, and a 675-295 record before retiring in 2001. He was also a former UCLA guard who played under John Wooden and was rumored to be his successor. However, Crum stayed at Louisville, and the Bruins hired Gene Bartow. Crum's teams won with many of the principles he had learned under Wooden, and he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1994.
