John Brodie, longtime San Francisco 49ers quarterback and 1970 NFL MVP, died at 90. He starred for SF from 1957–1973, threw for 31,548 yards and 214 touchdowns, and was later inducted into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame.

John Brodie, a 49ers quarterback for 17 seasons and the NFL MVP in 1970, has died at age 90; after his playing career he worked as a football and golf analyst for NBC Sports and won a Senior PGA Tour event in 1991.
