Bonnie Tyler reveals the surprising inspiration behind "Total Eclipse of the Heart"

Bonnie Tyler shares the story of how she collaborated with Jim Steinman to create the iconic song "Total Eclipse of the Heart." Tyler expressed her desire to work with Steinman, who had written for Meat Loaf, and after meeting him in New York, they recorded the song at Power Station. Steinman had originally started writing the song for a musical version of Nosferatu. The song had to be shortened from seven to four minutes, but it became a massive hit. Rory Dodd, who sang on Bat Out of Hell, also contributed vocals to the song. Tyler fondly remembers her time working with Steinman and expresses her sadness at his passing.
