John Mayer and McG Acquire Iconic Jim Henson Studio Lot for $60M
John Mayer and filmmaker McG are set to purchase the historic Jim Henson Studios in Hollywood for approximately $60 million. The property, which has a rich history as the former A&M Studios and Charlie Chaplin Studios, was previously speculated to be a target for acquisition by the Church of Scientology. However, Mayer, who already has offices on the lot, moved to secure the deal after a bid from Fab Factory Studios, linked to Scientology supporters, fell through. The studio has been a significant site in Hollywood since 1917.
