Yankees Partner with Starr Insurance, Adding Jersey Patch to Iconic Uniforms
The New York Yankees will be adding a sponsored patch to their uniforms, becoming the 13th MLB team to do so. Starr Insurance logos will debut on the sleeves of Yankees jerseys on July 21, and the location of the patch will vary from player to player. This move has received mixed reactions from fans, as the Yankees' pinstriped uniform is considered iconic. However, the introduction of jersey advertising was agreed upon in the latest collective bargaining agreement between MLB and the players association. In addition to the patches, Starr Insurance signage will be placed on the Yankee Stadium outfield wall.
