Titanic Submarine Tragedy: Investor Reveals Sacrifice and Passenger's Fear
Las Vegas investor Jay Bloom revealed that he and his son gave up seats on the Titan submarine that sank during a dive to the wreck of the Titanic, killing five people. Bloom posted screenshots of text conversations between himself and Stockton Rush, the OceanGate Expeditions co-founder and CEO killed during the dive. Bloom and his son were unable to take part in the excursion due to scheduling, and instead, Shahzada Dawood and his teenage son, Suleman, went in their place. After several days of a massive international search and rescue effort, debris from Titan had been discovered near the Titanic.
