Maryland dominates Northeastern in NCAA baseball tournament opener.

Maryland baseball defeats Northeastern 7-2 in the opening game of the Winston-Salem Regional of the NCAA Tournament. Junior ace right-handed pitcher Jason Savacool pitched six stellar innings, allowing just two earned runs and five hits while striking out seven. Senior third baseman Nick Lorusso hit a solo home run in the first inning, his 100th RBI of the season, and tied the Maryland single-season home run record with 24. Maryland will face the winner of Wake Forest and George Mason on Saturday.
