"Former Commanders Executive Files Defamation Lawsuit"

Former Commanders executive, Jason Friedman, has filed a defamation lawsuit seeking $7.85 million in damages against the team after accusing them of defaming him. Friedman had informed the House Oversight Committee about alleged financial improprieties within the organization, to which the team responded by publicly calling him a liar and accusing him of perjury. Friedman's counsel believes he will be vindicated both by the NFL's investigation and a court of law. The lawsuit comes as the NFL's owners prepare to meet to approve the sale of the team from Daniel Snyder to Josh Harris.

Former Commanders Exec Jason Friedman Files Defamation Lawsuit Against Team Over Perjury Accusation

Former Washington Commanders VP, Jason Friedman, has filed a defamation lawsuit against the team and one of its attorneys, John Brownlee, seeking $7.5 million in compensatory damages. Friedman, who testified before Congress last year about financial improprieties within the organization, alleges that the team publicly called him a liar and accused him of perjury, causing severe personal and professional damage. The lawsuit comes just days before NFL owners are set to vote on the sale of the Commanders. The team and Brownlee have not yet issued a statement regarding the lawsuit.
