Japanese engineering company Tsubame Industries has created a 3.5-ton robot called Archax that can transform from a standing 'robot mode' into a streamlined 'vehicle mode' with the press of a button. The 15ft-tall piloted mech, which bears a resemblance to the Transformers character Bumblebee, has a cockpit with a 360-degree view of the surroundings through external cameras. The company plans to sell the robots for $3 million each and hopes to create a new market for luxury vehicles. The Archax robot is powered by an electric motor and can reach speeds of up to 10 mph.
