"Unprecedented January Warmth Shatters Records Across the Twin Cities"

The Twin Cities experienced its warmest January 31 in 150 years, breaking numerous daily high-temperature records with a high of 55 degrees, a whopping 31 degrees warmer than the normal for that date. This unprecedented late January warm surge also set records in other cities in Minnesota and Wisconsin. While not the warmest January day on record statewide, it was the warmest January 31 on record for Minnesota. The warm trend is expected to continue, with a dense fog advisory in effect and temperatures remaining about 20 degrees warmer than normal for the rest of the week.
