Former Alabama Prep Star Goes First in XFL Rookie Draft
The Orlando Guardians made the first selection in all 10 rounds of the XFL Rookie Draft, and three of their choices came from Alabama high schools. Among the seven players selected from Alabama high schools and colleges were UAB wide receiver Trea Shropshire and Texas tight end Jahleel Billingsley from the University of Alabama. The XFL Rookie Draft was a closed event, and the league released the 80 selections alphabetically by team on Friday afternoon, so there’s no indication which player went No. 1 or in any specific draft spot.
