Jahari Stampley, a 24-year-old piano prodigy, has won the prestigious Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz International Competition. Stampley, who released his first album, "Still Listening," around the same time, expressed his overwhelming joy and respect for the other participants. Having started playing the piano at the age of 14 and graduating from the Manhattan School of Music, Stampley has already toured with Stanley Clarke. His mother, D-Erania Stampley, a renowned Chicago jazz figure, has been a significant influence on his musical journey.
