China Successfully Tests Indigenous WS-15 Engine on J-20 Stealth Fighter
There are indications that a Chinese J-20 stealth fighter has flown with two new WS-15 jet engines, a significant milestone in the development of the J-20 design. Pictures and videos circulating on social media suggest that the test flight took place at Chengdu's main test airfield. The WS-15 engines, which have been in development since the 1990s, are expected to provide a significant boost in performance to the J-20. If confirmed, this would make the J-20 more powerful than the U.S. F-22 Raptor and F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
