Indiana-Kentucky baseball rivalry ends with controversy and missed games.
The longstanding cross-border baseball series between Indiana University (IU) and Kentucky has been put on pause as Kentucky is unwilling to play in Bloomington. IU baseball coach Jeff Mercer said that Kentucky canceled the series last year and that it won't be played again unless it's in the postseason. The same thing happened in football, and the men's basketball series has been dormant since 2011-12. Athletic departments need to protect rivalries that generate energy in the fan bases and put egos aside to give the people what they want.
