Two skiers are missing after being caught in an avalanche near Mont Blanc on the Italy-France border. Two other skiers who survived the avalanche alerted rescuers, but low-lying clouds prevented helicopters from reaching the scene. The chances of finding the missing skiers alive are slim, according to the mayor of Courmayeur. The avalanche risk in the area was a level-three "considerable" danger on a scale of five risk levels.
