The new trailer for the TV adaptation of Twisted Metal provides a clearer picture of the show's irreverent-yet-apocalyptic tone, featuring walled-cities, vehicular mayhem, and a killer clown. The trailer reveals that the United States is a wasteland, with lucky individuals living in comfortable walled cities while the in-between lands are a barren desert of highways, cars, guns, and outlaws. The protagonist, played by Anthony Mackie, is tasked with delivering goods between these cities and gets an assignment that leads to a bizarre mix of bleak and violent punchlines and outright silliness. The 10-episode first season of Twisted Metal will premiere on Peacock on July 27.
