Sri Lanka hunts for 100 missing after Iranian frigate sinks offshore
An Iranian frigate, IRIS Dena, sank about 40 nautical miles off Galle, Sri Lanka, triggering a rescue operation that recovered several bodies and 32 wounded; about 180 crew were aboard, and the cause of the sinking is not yet known as search and rescue continues. The ship had just completed participation in the 2026 International Fleet Review in Vishakhapatnam.
