No arrests have been announced, and investigators have not disclosed suspects. A remembrance service for the crash victims is planned in Charlotte, and a preliminary NTSB report is expected with the final report due in 12 to 18 months.

A man in Iredell County, North Carolina, bound and killed several people in a home before barricading himself with several children, leading to a night-long standoff with deputies. The suspect, Justin Michael Strawser, was eventually killed by deputies after gassing the house to try and get him out. The murder victims were identified as Eduardo Cordova, 22, and Caleb Loper, 24, and deputies believe drugs and robbery may have been a motive.
