"Twists and Turns: The Gilgo Beach Murders and the Intriguing Role of Rex Heuermann's Wife"
The defense attorney for alleged Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex A. Heuermann claims that another suspect in the 13-year-old case was nearly arrested under the previous district attorney, and prosecutors have not yet turned over detectives' notes that could help the defendant. Defense attorney Michael J. Brown stated that these notes would contain the names of other suspects in the multiple homicide investigation. Brown also revealed that former Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy Sini wanted someone arrested for the crime, but did not identify the potential suspect. Heuermann's attorney is requesting all investigation notes to properly defend his client, and the prosecution has so far turned over grand jury minutes and crime lab notes. The grand jury investigation is expected to end soon, and Heuermann has been held without bail since his arrest in the killings of three women. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
