"Surgeons Extract Live Foot-Long Eel from Man's Belly in Bizarre Medical Emergency"
Surgeons in Vietnam successfully removed a live 30cm-long eel from a man's abdomen after it allegedly entered through his anus, slid up his colon, and caused intestinal perforation and peritonitis. The man, who was admitted with severe abdominal cramps, underwent urgent surgery to remove the eel, which was still alive when extracted. The delicate operation was performed safely, and the patient was stabilized and kept under observation with mild discomfort.
