Destructive Tornado Wreaks Havoc Along I-96
A tornado in eastern Ingham County, Michigan, caused significant damage along a stretch of Interstate 96, overturning 17 semis and numerous cars, downing wires, and toppling trees. The storm destroyed billboards and street signs, sheared off treetops, and resulted in the death of a 40-year-old man. Emergency crews worked to extract occupants from multiple vehicles simultaneously, and the westbound lanes of I-96 remained closed.
