Walmart Announces Retirement of Judith McKenna, Appoints New Leaders for International and Sam's Club Divisions
Walmart has promoted Kathryn McLay, the CEO of its Sam's Club unit, to head its $100 billion international business, succeeding Judith McKenna. McLay will take over the division on September 11 and will be responsible for managing Walmart's operations in 19 countries, including China. Despite challenges such as slowing economic growth and structural problems in certain markets, Walmart International has performed strongly under McKenna's leadership. McLay, who has a successful track record at Sam's Club, will be tasked with driving growth in the international division.
