Microsoft Unveils AI-Powered Surface Devices and Windows 11 Enhancements
Microsoft has unveiled the Surface Laptop Studio 2, the latest iteration of its flagship laptop for creators. The new model features an Intel Movidius discrete neural processor, designed for local AI tasks, alongside updated core components, more ports and slots, and an aluminum chassis. The laptop retains its flip-and-fold screen design and offers improved haptic feedback on the touchpad. It also introduces Windows Studio Effects, which utilize the Movidius NPU for features like background blur, eye-contact correction, and dynamic field-of-view reframing during videoconferencing. The base version of the Surface Laptop Studio 2 comes with an Intel Core i7-13700H processor, 16GB of memory, and a 512GB SSD, with options for increased memory and storage. The laptop is expected to have a battery life of 16 to 19 hours.
