Former Kansas basketball player Arterio Morris had a felony rape case against him dismissed due to insufficient evidence, after being charged and dismissed from the team last August following an alleged incident at McCarthy Hall. Morris had previously faced a misdemeanor assault charge in Texas, where he played for the Longhorns, and had entered a no-contest plea to a Class C charge.
Actor Armie Hammer will not face charges over allegations of sexual assault due to insufficient evidence, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. Hammer was accused of raping a woman in 2017 and sending explicit messages on social media. The actor denied all criminal allegations against him and said he was looking forward to putting his life back together now that his name has been cleared. The district attorney's office said prosecutors conducted an "extremely thorough review" but could not prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
