Ex-Head of UK Police Watchdog Charged with Rape of Minor
Michael Lockwood, the former head of the UK's police watchdog, has been charged with three counts of rape and six counts of indecent assault against a girl under the age of 16. Lockwood, who ran the Independent Office for Police Conduct from 2018 to 2022, is due to appear in court on June 28. The charges come after a report revealed that over 300 UK police officers have been reported for rape over the past five years, with 10 convicted and 350 still working for the police.
