"Google Agrees to Purge Incognito Browsing Data in Lawsuit Settlement"
Google has agreed to delete data collected from users who used Chrome's Incognito mode to settle a class action lawsuit that claimed the company misled users about data collection. The lawsuit alleged that Google tracked website usage without users' knowledge while in Incognito mode. Google plans to update the wording in Incognito mode, destroy improperly collected data, and disable third-party cookies by default. The settlement does not include damages for users, but individuals can file their own lawsuits. Google is also facing off with the U.S. Department of Justice over its search and ad businesses.
