Global Shiite Muslims Commemorate Ashura with Processions and Rituals
Tens of thousands of Muslims worldwide observed Ashura, commemorating the seventh-century death of Prophet Muhammad’s grandson, Imam Hussein. In Muscat, a shooting at a Shia mosque killed at least six people.
