NY Man Who Shot Mugger Faces Multiple Gun Charges and $50k Bail.

Charles Foehner, the Queens man who shot a would-be mugger, was arraigned on 25 counts of criminal possession of a weapon for using an unlicensed gun to fatally blast Cody Gonzalez in the chest and for allegedly keeping an arsenal of illicit handguns, revolvers, and rifles at his home. Foehner cited the city's crime rates as the reason for carrying the firearm. Police later found approximately 26 firearms, including pistols, shotguns, rifles, an AK 47, two body armor vests, and multiple rounds of ammunition in his home. Foehner faces up to 25 years in prison on the top charge of criminal possession of a firearm in the first degree.

NYC man who shot mugger now faces multiple gun charges.

Charles Foehner, who shot a mugger in Queens, was charged with 25 counts of criminal possession of a weapon after cops found an arsenal of roughly 30 illegal firearms in his apartment. Foehner had complained about rampant crime in his neighborhood in a 2020 article. He was armed when confronted by the mugger, citing the city's crime as the reason.
