Ukrainian Officials Arrest Former Military Commissioner for Corruption and Treason
The State Bureau of Investigation in Ukraine has detained Yevhen Borysov, the former head of the Odesa Regional Center for Recruitment and Social Support, who is suspected of illegal enrichment and evasion of duty. Borysov attempted to evade the investigation by changing his phone numbers, cars, and location, but was eventually found and detained in Kyiv. The investigation has uncovered evidence of his illegal enrichment, including the ownership of expensive foreign real estate and luxury vehicles by his family members. The SBI will seek detention without bail for Borysov, and he could face up to ten years in prison if convicted.
