Fiery Tanker Incident Forces Closure of I-75 at I-696 in Oakland County
The northbound lanes of I-75 in Oakland County, Michigan, reopened after a tanker truck carrying hot asphalt caught fire and shut down the freeway. The fire was extinguished, but the asphalt needed to be cleared off the road. The incident also damaged the median wall and the roadway, and crews were assessing if the wall was salvageable.
