Israeli Settler Attack Claims Palestinian Life in West Bank Town
A 19-year-old Palestinian, Labib Dumaidi, was killed when a group of Israeli settlers attacked the town of Huwara in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that Dumaidi was shot in the heart by a settler while seeking refuge on the roof of his home. The Israeli military claimed that a suspect was shot after throwing a brick at a vehicle but provided no details on the victim's identity. Settler violence against Palestinians has been on the rise, occurring at a rate of three incidents per day for the first eight months of 2023, according to the United Nations. Palestinians have accused Israeli authorities of allowing settler violence to go unpunished as part of a campaign to push them off their land.
