A fatal crash in Huntersville claimed the life of a junior student-athlete from Mallard Creek High School, with three other students from the school sustaining life-threatening injuries. The community is mourning the loss, and the school is providing support for students and families. The wreck is currently under investigation.

At least one person was injured when a car crashed through a home in Huntersville, North Carolina. The car entered one end of the house and exited through the other, causing significant damage. Two NASCAR drivers, Jason Alan White and Chris Hacker, were separately arrested in Huntersville, North Carolina, on charges of driving while impaired. White, a Craftsman Truck Series driver, has made 157 career starts and has not recorded a win in the series. Hacker has driven in 14 Truck Series races and two Xfinity Series races. Both drivers were also charged with speeding and reckless driving, and their licenses were revoked for 30 days. They are scheduled to appear in court in September.
