Kate Winslet Circles Lead in LOTR Spinoff Hunt for Gollum
Kate Winslet is in talks to star in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, directed by Andy Serkis, reuniting her with producer Peter Jackson. The film is set between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring and is slated for a December 17, 2027 release, with rumors of Elijah Wood and Ian McKellen returning, while Jackson’s team Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens are involved. Warner Bros. is reportedly being sold to Paramount Skydance, but the project is not expected to be derailed.
