'Worst Landlord' in NYC Attacked at Rikers Island
Daniel Ohebshalom, a notorious New York City landlord, surrendered to police for failing to make court-ordered repairs on his Manhattan properties and was sent to Rikers Island, where he was reportedly attacked and hospitalized. Ohebshalom's neglect has resulted in hundreds of violations affecting the health and safety of his tenants, leading to a $3 million fine and a 60-day jail sentence. Tenants have long complained about poor living conditions, including rats, roaches, and lack of heat and hot water. This is not the first time the city has taken action against Ohebshalom, who owns multiple properties across Manhattan.
