IHG Hotels & Resorts now allow guests to use AirPlay to stream content from their iPhones directly to the TV at select hotel locations. For those not staying at an IHG property, using dongles like Roku or Fire TV sticks with AirPlay compatibility is an option, but may require removing the hotel TV's control box. Streaming an Android phone to a hotel TV is similar, with some hotels already having built-in Chromecasts, while others may require bringing your own dongle and following similar steps to connect and cast content.

Apple's iOS 17.3 update includes the delayed hotel TV AirPlay feature, allowing users to stream content directly to the TV in select hotels, with IHG Hotels & Resorts expected to be the first to support it. LG's Pro:Centric Smart Hotel TVs will work with hotel AirPlay, enabling guests to connect their iPhone or iPad securely to the TV by scanning a unique QR code, simplifying access to personal entertainment apps and accounts on the big screen in their room.
