Elderly Israeli Hostage Freed by Hamas on Golf Cart
Yafa Adar, an 85-year-old Israeli great-grandmother who was famously abducted by Hamas terrorists on a golf cart, was among the first batch of hostages released as part of a temporary ceasefire between Hamas and Israel. Adar's defiant image during the abduction became a powerful symbol of the conflict. Thirteen Israeli women and children, along with ten Thai nationals and one Filipino citizen, were freed and turned over to the Red Cross. The truce stipulates the release of 50 women and children hostages in exchange for the freedom of 150 Palestinian prisoners.
