A 2013 shooting in Lackawanna County that killed Melissa Rocuba was initially treated as an accident, but new evidence—from a home security DVR and forensic analysis—showed a heated confrontation and blood patterns suggesting homicide. Bruno Rocuba was charged with murder in 2022, later pled to third-degree murder in 2024, and received a 12-to-40-year sentence in 2025 (parole eligible in 2035). The case also exposed family tensions, inheritance disputes, and a later tragedy when Melissa’s grandson died in 2025.
